Alex has spent his career working in digital programmes for nonprofits. He is the former co-CEO of digital agency Forward Action and current co-founder of Modern Change, a consultancy that helps progressive organisations adopt AI ethically and effectively.

Alex’s career began at online campaign group 38 Degrees, where he led the launch of the ‘Campaigns by You’ platform. Within 12 months of launch, the platform was delivering 80% of the organisation’s annual growth, with Alex managing a team of five staff to support it.

Moving into the political sphere, Alex then worked at the Labour Party. There, he led the email fundraising programme for the 2015 general election, which set new records for online fundraising in a European election.

After the 2015 election, Alex co-founded Forward Action, a digital agency for charities. Over eight years as Forward Action’s co-CEO, he grew a client base of nearly 100 organisations and supported dozens of nonprofits in changing their strategy, culture and tools around digital. Change management was also central to Alex’s internal leadership of Forward Action, where he delivered change processes on everything from product overhauls and team restructuring to the introduction of employee ownership and a four-day work week.

Alex focuses on culture change, improving ways of working, and AI transformation strategy. He was educated at Oxford University where he earned a first class degree in Experimental Psychology.
